Don’t forget to check the calendar to make sure there’s
not a holiday or major sporting event on your desired date—otherwise
you and your guests will be competing with fans for scarce and
more expensive hotel rooms. During Happy Valley’s football
season, some might even choose the Nittany Lions over you. Keep
in mind that even if it’s an away game, guests might miss
your first dance because they’re huddled around a TV at
the bar.
