Mid-State Literacy Council’s Literacy Is Served Tribute Dinner honored Katie O’Toole in early May at Celebration Hall. Following a themed dinner by Hoag’s, featuring Dr. Seuss, Alice in Wonderland, The Hobbit and Treasure Island-themed delicacies, attendees celebrated O’Toole’s contributions to literacy. She received the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania House of Representatives Citation and the Ruth C. Kistler Service Award. RamaLama, singing table to table, provided live music. Volunteer tutors, community supporters, friends and family honored the opportunities education creates.
