The State Theatre Celebrates 10 Years

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, The State Theatre hosted a concert in early December. The show featured local artists performing songs and dances that encapsulated each decade from the 1930s through today. Rick Hirsch’s Zeropoint Big Band backed up more than a dozen acts. Glenn Thompson presented Executive Director Greg Ray with a congressional letter of honor recognizing the theater’s accomplishments in the community. Big Spring Spirits provided cocktails, Race Street Brew Works provided beer, and The Allen Street Grill served hors d’oeuvres to VIP guests. Cupcakes from Dolce Vita Desserts provided a sweet end to the sold-out evening. Photos by Chuck Carroll.
