Global Connections’ Passport on a Plate

Global Connections took guests on a culinary tour of Southeast Asia for the Passport on a Plate gala March 26 at the Nittany Lion Inn. Dishes from Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos made up a menu enjoyed by 125 guests. Offerings included summer rolls, satays, beef rendang and banh flan. The feast for the eyes and ears included performances by The Suzuki Guitars, the Thai Student Association at Penn State and tablescapes celebrating the night’s cultures. Proceeds from the gala will help fund programs that promote cultural understanding, benefiting both international and American community members. Photos by Carl Knowlton.
